System operating principle:

Fig. 1 displays the general layout of the system. This way, during construction of the structure it is necessary to lay down the CLE pipe and route the end points to the surface of the planned structure, in order to provide the ability to subsequently launch the probes.

After construction works are completed and before commissioning, a diagnostic of the waterproofing leak tightness is performed, by the operator launching a probe down every pipe via the mobile system and launching another probe at the electrodes in the drainage layer at the same time, all while electrical current is being delivered to the ground. As it passes the channels, the probe measures temperature changes. If the waterproofing is damaged, an electrical connection is made, the effect of which generates a large amount of heat that gets noticed by the measuring probe. The damage detection diagram is depicted on Fig. 2.

After a probe passes through all the CLE pipes, the information collection and processing system displays the damaged areas, if any are present. On the computer interface, the areas where damage is detected are marked in red, see Fig 3.

The following are the images of all steps of the works.

This is an equipment system for the monitoring of the waterproofing leak tightness by the operator. Its chief elements are:

CLE pipe – laid down into the ground/concrete under the waterproofing into lines purposely combined into channels at a distance of 5 - 8 metres away from each other and covering the entire area. It is meant for launching probes (measuring sensors). The inner diameter of the pipe is 5 mm, external – 8 mm.

Mobile system for launching probes, designed for launching the probe down the CLE pipe and transmitting the diagnostics data to the mobile information collection and processing station.
